JudgeS BAY Toilet Block Pumpstatation renewal
The Judges Bay project was a critical infrastructure renewal project delivered for Auckland Council in highly sensitive coastal environment.
The project was to replace an aging pump station that posed a direct threat to the surrounding ecology and public health
Almond Contractors was appointed as the Principal Contractor to deliver a permanent and robust solution.
The comprehensive scope of work included:
Installation of a new, low-pressure wastewater pumpstation involving excavating to a depth of 6m via spiral auger and associated temporary works to install a 1800mm diameter chamber
Installation of all pump station components including pump controls, telemetry system and electrical components
Installation of a new valve chamber including isolation valves and scour valves
Installation of 100mm and 150mm PVC gravity pipeline to feed the pumpstation during live flows - managed using temporary bypassing
Installation of 63mm PE100 rising main via Horizontal Directional Drilling to connect to Watercare manhole
